The Castle’s origins date back to Norman times and having withstood many battles over the course of time, it is one of the most iconic landmarks of northeast England. The Northumberland Fusiliers also house their regimental collection here.
The Castle has regularly featured in film and television productions, including Elizabeth and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, and was the location for Hogwarts the fictional school of Witchcraft & Wizardry in the Harry Potter films.
