Stockholm Scenic Drive

Passing through the southern residential district of Södermalm, drive west along Söder Mälarstrand and across the Western Bridge spanning Riddarfjärden and offering extensive views of the city skyline. In the distance you will see the three crowns atop the imposing City Hall, beautifully situated by the shores of the Lake Mälaren. Inaugurated in 1923 after 12 years of work by the combined elite of Swedish construction workers, sculptors, artists and craftsmen. Renowned for its architecture, murals, mosaics and for being the site for the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Experience the grandeur and spaciousness of the impressive Blue Hall and Golden Chamber and enjoy the beautiful view from the Garden.


Djurgården Island

Continue past the Royal Dramatic Theatre along Strandvägen to the island of Djurgården, regarded as Stockholm's amusement and recreation centre with great park lands but also museums as the Skansen Open Air Museum and the Vasa Museum, housing the Swedish warship Vasa.


Vasa Museum

Visit the Vasa, once considered to be one of the world's largest and most prestigious warships. The museum is built around the 17th century warship, which sank in Stockholm's inner harbour on her maiden voyage in 1628. Salvaged in 1961 and today restored to much of its former glory, the Vasa represents an authentic piece of living history.


Old Town and Lunch

Continue through the Diplomat areas and through Östermalm, a fashionable neighbourhood of stately apartment buildings to the modern shopping and business areas at Hamngatan and Sergels Torg before reaching Stockholm's oldest and cosiest quarter, the Old Town.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant .


Walking Tour

After lunch enjoy a guided walk through the Old Town. Witness the historic elegance of the exterior of the dominating Royal Palace and the Cathedral, dating back to the 13th century. Walk along the narrow, twisting alleys and cobblestone streets with buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries with baroque doorways and coat of arms. At Stortorget, the Great Square, you will see the Old Stock Exchange, now home of the Swedish Academy and the Nobel Museum

Please note: This tour is available for disembarking guests staying in Stockholm as well as guests with flights after 7:00pm. Tour involves moderate walking with numerous stairs to negotiate. It is not recommended for guests with limited mobility. A minimum number of participants is required to operate this tour. The order of sights visited and actual tour duration may vary. Upon completion of the tour visits, the coach may stop only at the Grand Hotel and/or the Sheraton Hotel to disembark guests staying in Stockholm, before proceeding to the airport. Please note that the City Hall can close on short notice due to private functions.
