Excursion Vip spirit tasting at the halifax citadel tour at Halifax

Travel to the renowned Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and be welcomed by a uniformed interpreter dressed in the red wool doublet and Mackenzie tartan kilt of the 78th Highlanders. Your guide will lead you into one of Canada’s largest star-shaped fortifications, revealing its ramparts, rooms, and hidden secrets during a guided site tour. Then, you will be taken to a private VIP room where your Highlander host will guide you in tasting three spirits: Daily Ration Rum, Noon Gun Gin, and Granite & Grain Whisky. All three spirits are produced by Compass Distillers, a local Halifax company, and are aged within the Halifax Citadel in wooden barrels. After the tasting, your host will accompany you back to your motorcoach at the main gate of the Halifax Citadel.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking and for approx. 500 meters/545 yards for about 1 hour at Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, over rustic, varied terrain (even/uneven surfaces), including cobblestones, grass, wood and brick as well as some stairs. This tour is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or those who utilise a wheelchair. Warm, layered clothing and closed-toe walking shoes are recommended. The tour sequence and timings may vary.
