Excursion South corniche coastal drive tour at Port Vendres

Cruise line: Silversea
Difficulty:

After meeting your guide, enjoy a short drive to the Notre-Dame de la Mer viewpoint. A 300-meter walk brings you to a breathtaking panorama of the Collioure coast, an inspiring way to begin your day.

Your journey continues with a relaxing coastal drive through Port-Vendres and Banyuls-sur-Mer, winding between sea and mountains. This stretch of the Côte Vermeille is known for its dramatic cliffs, vineyards, and sparkling sea views, all narrated with fascinating local history by your guide.

Arrive in Cerbère, the last French village before Spain, small in size but rich in history. Enjoy time at your leisure: admire traditional Catalan fishing boats, visit the unique Hotel Belvédère with its ship-like Art Deco architecture, or explore local landmarks including the Massot and Trias homes. For history enthusiasts, don't miss the powerful connection to "La Retirada", the 1939 retreat of nearly 500,000 Spanish refugees fleeing Franco’s regime.

Before heading back, take a final break at Cap Perafita, where the rolling vineyards meet the sea. A short 300-meter walk gives you one last chance to snap incredible coastal photos before your return journey.

Enjoy a comfortable ride of approximately 60-minutes along the coast back to the pier.
