Australia Zoo - Home of The Crocodile Hunter and His Family

Depart the pier for approximately 40-minute drive to the iconic Australia Zoo - the ultimate wildlife adventure and conservation destination. The founder was Steve Irwin, nicknamed "The Crocodile Hunter", an Australian zookeeper, television personality, wildlife expert, environmentalist and conservationist. The Zoo is now operated by his wife, Terri Irwin, and the passionate Irwin family. Terri is an American-Australian naturalist, conservationist, author, and the owner of Australia Zoo. A native Oregonian from the United States, she began an independent animal rehabilitation centre for injured predator mammals at age 22 while working for her family's trucking business. You will hear all about the conservation efforts of the onsite wildlife warrior team.


Close Up Wildlife Encounter, Wildlife Shows, Wildlife Hospital Sneak Peek

Get up close to cuddly koalas, waddling wombats, slithering snakes and cute kangaroos. Check out giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cheetahs and meerkats at the African Savannah, and majestic tigers and red pandas in South-East Asia. See free-roaming ring-tailed lemurs, giant Aldabra tortoises, colorful macaws and more on Bindi's Island. Take a sneak peek into the amazing Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital where you may see some of the incredible vets and nurses at work from behind the glass of the dedicated viewing area. Watch a saltwater crocodile strike from the water's edge in the daily Wildlife Warriors show.


Free Time

You will have approximately three and a half hours at your leisure and explore everything this amazing place has to offer. There are many wildlife shows to enjoy during your visit. During this free time, you can purchase snacks, lunch and refreshments at your own expense.


At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach for a return drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour requires a moderate amount of walking. Guests must be able to board the coach unassisted. Walking at the Zoo is at guest's discretion during free time. A courtesy shuttle operates around the park at various intervals. Please take care around animals and whilst interaction is likely with some animals it cannot be guaranteed. Always obey the instructions of the keepers. Guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, and to bring sunscreen, water and local currency.
