Excursion E-bike marae taputapuatea tour at Raiatea

Take in the breathtaking views of Raiatea known as the 'Sacred Island', on e-Bike.

E-Bike, FAAROA valley, Botanical Garden, Gabbro’s Site

After a brief safety instruction, depart the tender pier for a scenic ride to start your tour. Discover the FAAROA valley with a stop at the botanical garden. There, you'll find paths lined with an array of flowers, tropical plants, and fruit trees. Proceed to Gabbro’s site, where you will see eroded plutonic rocks called gabbros in the shape of a gutter, two platforms overlooking the caldera, and views of tropical fruit fields

Belvedere, Aman Plantations

Continue on the Belvedere and viewpoint on the valley. At the top of the road that traverses the southern part of Raiatea, marvel at the scenic viewpoint that offers stunning views of the Fa'aroa estuary and the surrounding countryside. Continuing on, the group may choose to return by the agricultural tracks of the Aman plantations on the way to Marea Taputapuatea.

Marea Taputapuatea 

Before transferring back to the pier, see the UNESCO World Heritage site Marea Taputapuatea. Learn how Marae Taputapuatea served as a central religious and cultural hub for the Polynesian people. It is considered the spiritual homeland and the point from which Polynesian voyaging canoes set off to explore and settle the vast Pacific Ocean.

At conclusion, transfer back to the pier.

Please note: Guests must be able to ride a bicycle for approximately 3.5 hrs over various terrain and inclines. This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition and confident bikers only. It is not suitable for guest with limited mobility, back issues, heart or breathing problems, or those who cannot pedal a bicycle for long periods of time. Guests must be at least 6 years old to participate in this tour. All necessary materials and bike equipment will be provided (bike and helmets). We advise guests to submit their height & weight information to the Shore Concierge team onboard. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection and insect repellent from the ship.
