Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to the town of Bayamón, and a visit to the Hacienda Santa Ana, home of the Ron del Barrilito Distillery. Here, Ron del Barrilito rum has been made in the same way since 1880. Upon arrival, receive a welcome cocktail and take a guided tour of Hacienda Santa Ana. Along the way, see several historical landmarks, including a beautifully preserved mansion and windmill dating from the early-19th century. In addition, learn about the history of the Fernández family, creators of Ron del Barrilito, the oldest Puerto Rican rum. Observe how this world-renowned rum is made and what makes it unique during an in-depth walk through the production process.
Fort San Cristobal, Dungeon, Centuries-Old Wall Drawings
Following your tour and a comfort stop, re-board your coach and continue on to Fort San Cristobal. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of Fort San Cristobal, a mainstay of the San Juan fortification system. It is from this site that the Spanish successfully defended their city from British and Dutch attacks, as well as frequent assaults from various and sundry pirates. During your visit, explore the dungeon to view centuries-old drawings representing images of Spanish galleons on the walls. After exploring Fort San Cristobal, re-board your coach for a sightseeing drive through areas of Old San Juan, an UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During your tour of Old San Juan, a stop is made for lunch at one of the island’s classic restaurants.After lunch, some free time is made available for independent shopping and exploring in Old San Juan. At the conclusion of your tour, enjoy an approximately 20-minute drive to San Juan Airport for check-in and your flight home.

Please note: This tour is suitable for guests with flights departing San Juan after 7:00 p.m. This tour involves a moderate amount of walking, at time over uneven and cobblestone surfaces and inclines, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach and at the sites visited; an elevator is available at Fort San Cristobal. Walking in Old San Juan is at the discretion of each guest. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, bottled water, and US Dollars or credit cards for purchases from the ship.
